J&P Cycles New Location in Destination Daytona

In case you hadn’t already heard, J&P Cycles broke ground at Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach, Florida, this past April 2006. The new 35,000 square foot location will include a 24,000 square foot showroom and an 11,000 square foot second-floor call center. This new retail superstore will be open year-round and will have the parts, accessories, clothing, and collectibles related to the Harley-Davidsons and American V-twins that we’re all so fond of. It will also showcase a mezzanine around the showroom full of antique motorcycles, collectibles and more. J&P Cycles’ efforts to maintain motorcycle history is one of our favorite aspects of the home location in Anamosa, Iowa, so we’re excited to hear it will be present in the new one as well. “Destination Daytona is a fascinating stop for bikers from around the world,” said co-owner Jill Parham. “We look forward to serving customers from our new Florida location the same way we do here in Anamosa, Iowa.”

We called up the folks at J&P to see how construction was progressing on the Florida location. At the time of this writing, (which is a few months ahead of when we actually publish the magazine), “slowly but surely” was the response we got. The base for the building is now complete and the steel frame support structure of the building has been raised. The plan is to have the new building complete for Daytona Bike Week 2007. We hope all goes according to plan, but as most of us know with construction, there’s always a few flies in the ointment. Construction will surely progress though—smoothly or not.
